Diss Town 1 Kings Lynn Town 1
The young Linnets travelled to Diss Town, without Kevin White, Robbie Palmer, Nathan Daw, Simon Bird and Alex Clunan. This gave opportunities to Youth team players Danny Setchell, Kieren Shipp and Kodie Turvey who all started the game and Jacob White and Charlie Congreave made the bench. Lynn started the better of the two sides and had early chances from Tansley and Frohawk. Luke Pearson who was on fine form all afternoon made made two fine saves before half time to keep the scores at 0-0. Kings Lynn made the break through on 75 minutes when good work from Jack Frohawk who crossed to Karl Tansley who cleverly finished to put Lynn 1-0 up, the home side protested for a hand ball but the official waved away the protests from the Diss Town Players. Lynn could have increased their lead but the impressive Danny Setchell couldn’t convert his chance. Diss got their equaliser in the 90th minute when Self headed in a rebound after Luke Pearson made three incredible saves to deny them beforehand, the line official flagged for the goal to be disallowed for offside but after much deliberation between the officials the Referee gave the goal. On reflection it was disspointing for the young linnets to get all three points from the fixture on what they deserved but the avevage age of the team was only 20 years of age against a team what had only been relegated from the Premier Division.
